Coburg House was built in 1931 by Merchant David Bell as a granary warehouse in an area which was called, “Carpenters’ Land”. The stone carving on the front of the building was rehomed from a nearby tenement that was demolished and reads:

“God Bless the Carpenters of Leith who built this house in 1715”

Today Coburg house is a creative home for over 80 artists, makers and designers. This former granary has housed studios for nearly 20 years and is home to a dynamic creative community with a well-established reputation for excellence. Coburg House offers a range of workshops and classes and has a gallery and shop.

Come see for yourself!

This weekend (12th & 13th) Coburg House is opening their doors for a mini, pandemic-friendly version of their usual jam-packed Open Studios event.

You can book a time-slot to peruse the studios full of art, jewellery, textiles, ceramics and more - making it the perfect place to pick up unique gifts and get your wish list sorted all under one roof while supporting local artists!
